The 2024 Mens Burton Cartel X EST Binding takes the fan favourite Cartel and knocks it up a notch (Bam!) to create the latest and greatest in binding tech, the Cartel X EST. Fully upgraded with a stiffer baseplate, upgraded straps for enhanced boot grip and a Heel Hammock for response and comfort in the highback, you can guarantee a better responding binding and smoother ride. Base Plate:
Cartel X EST
The Cartel X EST baseplate features a dual-component construction, comprised of a 45% short-glass/nylon composite baseplate and a 30% short-glass/nylon composite spar. This gives you a responsive yet playful ride that is stiffer edge to edge for improved balance. This EST-specific baseplate removes the rigid material under your foot and replaces it with a flexible cushioned footbed, reducing the weight of the binding, increasing board feel, and maintaining the natural flex of the board.
The Hinge
Unique to EST bindings, The Hinge activates medial and lateral flex for a smoother feel and easier ollies, while allowing the board to flex more naturally and reducing stress and fatigue on your legs.

The Cartel X Highback consists of a single piece, resulting in instant response. This zero-lean canted design follows the contours of your legs to maximise control and comfort, while the Living Hinge built into the highback provides independent forward lean and highback rotation options while still reducing weight and materials, and works in conjunction with the Burton DialFLAD so you can easily dial in your desired forward lean.
Heel Hammock
The Cartel X goes above and beyond with the addition of a Heel Hammock at the base of the highback. This Heel Hammock features a reinforced rubbery material that wraps your boot heel, providing complete suspension for lightning fast response and a smoother boot to binding connection.
