Melbourne Snowboard Centre is a family owned snowboard store in Preston, Victoria that was voted Australia's #1 snowboard store in 2023. We are always on the hunt for people to join our crew of passionate riders that offer the amazing customer service experience that we are renowned for.

Our ideal team members have a background in snowboarding (or skiing – don’t worry we won’t hold that against you) and a love of the mountains. Snowsports Retail or Rental experience is highly desirable but not essential as we offer on the job training. Retail Sales Assistant - Seasonal Casual

As a Retail Assistant at Melbourne Snowboard Centre, you'll be an integral part of the team creating a positive and memorable shopping experience for our customers. Your role will involve assisting customers in finding the perfect snowboarding gear, providing product knowledge, and maintaining the store's overall cleanliness and organization. 

Job Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Provide expert advice on snowboarding gear, apparel, and accessories.
  • Assist customers in finding the right size, style, and fit for their needs.
  • Process transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring merchandise is well-displayed.

    Seasonal Social Media Coordinator / Creative - Seasonal Casual

    We are seeking a creative and dynamic individual to join our team as a Casual Social Media Creative for the upcoming winter season. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for snowboarding and a flair for creating engaging content for social media platforms.  The position is working from our retail store in Preston Victoria. The role works closely with our in-house designer and management team.

     

    Job Duties include but are not limited to: 

    Content Creation:

    • Develop visually appealing and compelling content for various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

    • Generate creative ideas for posts, stories, and reels that resonate with our target audience.

    Photography and Videography:

    • Capture high-quality photos and videos of our products, events, and behind-the-scenes moments.

    • Edit and enhance visual content to maintain a consistent brand aesthetic.

    Social Media Management:

    • Manage and maintain the social media content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant posts are scheduled in advance.

    • Monitor social media trends and incorporate them into our strategy to increase engagement.

    Community Engagement:

    • Foster a sense of community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions on social media platforms.

    Analytics and Reporting:

    • Utilize social media analytics tools to track the performance of campaigns and content.

    Qualifications:

    Shipping/Warehouse Team Leader - Full Time

    Melbourne Snowboard Centre is on the hunt for a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping/Warehouse Team Leader to run a small team in efficiently fulfilling orders and maintaining optimal stock levels at our retail location. 

     

    Job Duties include but are not limited to:

    Order Fulfillment:
    • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of customer orders from the e-commerce store.
    • Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to prioritize and fulfill orders promptly.
    • Implement and optimize order fulfillment processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

    Inventory Management:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for both the e-commerce and retail operations.
    • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
    • Collaborate with the offsite warehouse manager to monitor stock levels and transfer stock as needed to avoid stockouts.
    • Ensure shipping consumables are kept at adequate stock levels.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead a small team of two warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure efficient order fulfillment and stock maintenance.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

    Quality Control:

    • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and condition of products before shipment.
    • Address and resolve any quality issues in collaboration with the team.

    Space Optimization:

    • Maximize warehouse space utilization to accommodate current inventory levels and facilitate future growth.
    • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.

    Communication:

    • Collaborate with other departments, including sales, customer service, and purchasing, to enhance overall business operations.
    • Provide regular updates on inventory status, order fulfillment, and any potential challenges to upper management.

     

    Skills:

    • Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in an e-commerce or retail environment.
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a small team.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

    Experience:

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehousing

    Knowledge of Shopify is a plus

    Snowboarding knowledge a plus but not essential

     

    Salary $65 - $85k based on experience.

    Online Customer Service - Seasonal Full Time/Part Time

    We're chasing a technically minded snowboard nerd to join our customer service team. In this role you will be expected to answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, liaise with industry reps for warranty and product questions, manage online orders, and offer the high level of customer service we pride ourselves on in every facet of our store. Snowboard knowledge / snowboard experience is essential, along with experience in a customer service role. Experience with online customer service and using online sales platforms such as Shopify is highly regarded. This role is seasonal full time (March to October), with part time hours on offer from October through March, and is entirely in-office at our Preston store. 

    Job Duties include but are not limited to: 

    • Answering customer enquiries via phone and email

    • Creating and editing online orders

    • Handling product warranties from start to finish, including receiving product, liaising with industry reps, communicating with customers etc.

    • Receiving and processing customer returns and exchanges
