The 2025 CAPiTA Mega Death can be thought as the bigger, better, and more menacing brother of the fan favourite Black Snowboard of Death. This high end board boasts some of the best tech in the CAPiTA line for a truely unique, ultralight and powerful freeride machine. By taking specific aspects from other high end boards in the CAPiTA range, you get the Thermopolymer Starship Core, Pure Megacarbon glass and resin, coupled wth the Alpine V1 camber profile, giving you lightweight, responsive ride and the all new Megadrive Base with Moonshot Omni-Tune for one of the fastest rides on the market. With an ultra clean graphic and all the tech you could ever want, the Mega Death isn't for the faint of heart and will take no prisoners as you tear up the mountain this season.
This board is scheduled for delivery to Melbourne Snowboard In May 2024. This is an estimated delivery window and is subject to change. You will be notified via email once your board is ready to be collected in store, or once it has been shipped (if being shipped).
Board Type: All Mountain and Powder Performance
Camber Type: Alpine V1 Profile
Positive camber through most of the board for a stable and poppy ride, with a reverse camber nose and flat tail for effortless float in deep snow.
Flex: 6.5/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Stiff enough to plow through the powder and hold a strong edge, but soft enough to be forgiving when you need it.
Shape: Directional + New Age Progressive Death Grip
This board features a progressive sidecut which incorporates a reverse sidecut arc in the middle of the board. Due to a reduced effective edge as a result of hybrid camber shapes, this reverse camber arc adds an additional point of contact in the centre of the board (aka Death Grip), allowing you to retain better control through turns.
Core: FSC Certified 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core
The FSC Certified 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, and it practically is. More than just a mouthful, this core is made using an advanced electronic sorting system to select mega-premium poplar wood graded by weight and grain consistency, which is then combined with bonded post-consumer recycled Thermopolymer channels to form an advanced hybrid core that is unlike anything else you'll see on snow.
Pure Megacarbon - This high performance material is used to increase power and response while having a high tensile strength and low weight.
Base: Megadrive XT Die Cut Base
This exclusively formulated for the Mega line up of boards, this base is made with the most advanced and premium contents. It is as fast as science can make it and is a pure face base made of UHMW polyethylene modified with high carbon content and a special fluoro additives for lightspeed gliding in a wide range of conditions.
Inlaid Alloy Skid Plates - Reinforced with an ultralight skid plate, refined and reshaped to shave weight.
Moonshot Omni-Tune - CAPiTA have taken it a step further and given this base a stone grind structure which helps it glide over snow with minimal resistance and is optimised for regular and switch riding.
