The Nidecker Beta delivers effortless float and natural glide on the deepest days. As the most powder-focused model in our Biomimicry Series, it features a set-back stance, a spooned nose, and a short swallowtail, which together sink the rear while lifting up the front. The Beta's tail maximises volume and running length where needed, while effortlessly sinking in powder to eliminate leg burn. Its core, made from a lightweight blend of poplar and paulownia with carbon inlays at the nose and tail, ensures a lively response.
Board Type: Freeride-Powder
Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
Powder snowboards are designed for deep snow. Generally these boards feature a directional shape with a tapered tail for better float and ease of riding.
Flex: 4/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Responsive enough to hold an edge at speed, soft enough to stay fun and approachable. This flex balances control and playfulness, giving you confidence on groomers, versatility through the park, and a board that won’t feel out of place anywhere on the mountain.
Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Tapered Directional
A tapered directional snowboard features a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding. While it excels in one direction, the taper helps the board naturally guide you through challenging conditions.
Camber Type: Surfy CamRock
Surfy CamRock puts camber between your feet with rocker in the tip and slightly in the fail, giving the board plenty of pop with catch-free turns and more forgiving response.
Width: Standard, Wide
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Topsheet: Absorbnid Topsheet
Absorbnid is an innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations.
Laminate: Premium Sandwich Construction with Biax Plus Fiberglass
This next level construction steps up the power and response of Nideckers standard sandwich manufacturing. Adding advanced materials like Carbon and Kevlar gives the board more pop and improved shock absorption.
Biax Plus features a classic 90° weave but uses more glass to enhance power transfer. It’s super responsive and ideal for riders seeking a stiffer and more agile board that's still playful.
Core: Master Core with Pop Carbon
The Master Core is the culmination of decades of experimentation in materials and woodcraft. Two species of wood (poplar and paulownia) are combined to give the best of all worlds: light, strong and responsive.
Pop Carbon Plus adds carbon between the inserts and the nose and tail. This boosts ollie power and reduces dampening.
Base: N-7000 Hybrid
This base combines the low maintenance features of an extruded base with the hardness of a sintered base, making a hybrid base that requires minimum effort to maintain while still offering ample glide.
Additional Features:
A 3D curved nose helps the board roll smoothly from edge to edge, creating a natural, surf-like flow through each turn.
The Drop Out is derived from the shape of a bird of prey's tail. It generates more control when up on edge, but also allows for extra agility and deep, tight turns.
