Description

The 2021 Gnu Velvet is an anatomically intuitive easy riding progression accelerator and all-round performance snowboard. Labelled as a quiver killer, this board is great for those not so experienced riders all the way up to the Gnu team, from cruisy groomer runs to park laps and pow turns. This is thanks to its hybrid C2 camber and mid flex, which creates a floaty, playful, and poppy ride without feeling too loose or aggressive, while the asymmetric shape reduces fatigue and brings balance to your riding. Magne-Traction edges improve edge hold in all conditions, even on ice, so you can ride anywhere and be confident that the Velvet will keep you in control. The Velvet looks, feels, and rides incredibly well, and takes on all terrain with effortless elegance.

Key Features

Rider Level: Intermediate

Board Type: All Mountain Freestyle

Camber Type: C2

c2

Mild rocker between your feet with powerful camber to the tip and tail gives you power and pop on groomers and in the park along with float and freedom to charge through powder. Carves the resort, plays in the park, and slays powder.

Flex: 5/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)

Shape: Asym Twin

Identical tip to tail for controlled riding in regular or switch, with an asymmetric construction from toe to heel. Our bodies aren't the same front to back, so why should our boards be? Asymmetrical boards are built with a shorter sidecut on the heel edge and a different core construction from toe to heel, resulting in more precise carves on your toes, and easier and more powerful turns on your heels. This board is a level 1 on the asym scale, featuring an asymmetrical sidecut and core.

Core: Asym Unreal G1 ECO

A light, environmentally nice, and smooth core. Combines Aspen and Paulownia woods with Triax and Biax alloy glass for a strong, light, and poppy board.

Base: Eco-Sublimated Co-Ex

A fast, tough, and easy to maintain base.

Mounting Pattern: 2x4 inserts

Additional Features:

Eco Sublimated Poly Top - This topsheet is made using an eco-friendly sublimation process.

UHMW Sidewalls - Tough, fast, and environmentally friendly sidewalls.

Magnetraction - 7 strategically placed serrations along the edges of the board grip onto the snow and hold a strong edge in any condition.
