The 2021 Never Summer Shade is a surfy and playful freestyle board designed specifically for women. Some boards in the womens market are just mens boards that have been shrunk and given a different graphic, but not the Shade, this board has been a womens board from day 1 and performs like it. Boasting a soft flex with added carbon for stability and a versatile camber profile, the Shade will have you doing what you want to do all over the mountain, without compromise.

*Base colours may vary.

Key Features

Board Type: Freestyle

Camber: Original Rocker Camber

The Original Rocker Camber profile puts rocker in the centre of the board extending out underfoot to the end of the inserts, and camber from the inserts to the contact points. This makes the board nice and floaty, but still retains response and edge hold without being punishing.

Flex: 3/10 Stiff (1=soft, 10=stiff)

Shape: Twin

Ride regular or switch and you're in for a good time. If you were to fold this board in half, you would find perfect symmetry from tip to tail. Jib, spin and stomp with confidence and unmatched balance.

Core: NS Superlight Wood

A combination of durable and lightweight woods create an unmatched strength to weight ratio. The worlds best snowboard fibreglass gives Never Summer boards their superior strength, edge hold and durability. Damping along the edges, underfoot and at the tip and tail provide stability at high speeds, and absorb vibrations.

Bi-Lite Fibreglass

Lightweight and super strong, this fibreglass delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.

Power Strip Carbon

Never Summer have added carbon strips that extend out from the bindings out towards the nose and tail of the board, enhancing stability on landings. These strips also increase pop in the nose and tail without affecting the mid-flex of the board.

FDS Damping System

A freestyle-specific damping system, designed to smooth out chatter and absorb hand landings while retaining a light and snappy feel.

Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilisers

These stabilisers are placed directly below the mounting area to provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.

Base: Durasurf Sintered 5501 Base

A quick base that soaks up wax easily and keeps you moving fast.

Mounting Pattern: 2x4 Inserts

Extra Features:

Co-Extruded Polymer Topsheet - A tough topsheet that's durable, lightweight, and scratch and chip resistant.

Vario Power Grip Sidecut - Vario Power Grip side cut utilizes multiple edge contact points, allowing the board to track straight when required, while still providing maximum edge hold.

Sintered P-Tex Sidewalls - Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, sintered P-Tex sidewalls maintain their integrity in colder temperatures and won't crack.

P-Tex Tip/Tail Protection - The P-Tex protection seals and protects the wood core as well as protecting it from vibrations and impacts.

Low Profile Nose and Tail - A lower profile in the tips and tail maximises snow contact for more powerful ollies and nollies and added landing stability. This also reduces the plowing effect in the nose, making you glide smoother and faster and float better in powder.

Extended Transition Area - This board has extended flat sections at the contact points which improves turn initiation and powder floatation.
