The 2022 Jones Ultra Mind Expander is a supercharged mind-expanding experience designed for high-speed slashing and powerful freeriding. Taking the ever-popular Mind Expander and knocking it up a notch, the Ultra Mind Expander features the same shape but is a whole new beast, loaded with Ultra Construction for minimal weight, a camber rocker profile for added pop, edge hold, and response, a stiffer and lighter core, triax glass for torsional rigidity, and a tough FSC certified ash veneer topsheet that makes it stand out from the pack. This is a supercharged alternative all-mountain board designed to carve, charge, slash, and ride as hard as possible. Jones recommends riding the Ultra Mind Expander 4-6cm shorter than your traditional freeride board.
Camber Type: Christenson Surf Camber/Rocker
Taking cues from surfboard shapes, the Christenson Surf Camber/Rocker profile places rocker in the nose just inside the front inserts, in the tail just at the back inserts, and camber between the feet, keeping the nose up with minimal effort while putting power and precision under your feet.
Flex: 8/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Stiff boards are really stable at high speeds and in rough snow, and increase confidence in steep, deep, and rough terrain.
Directional Flex
This board has a directional flex pattern that allows more movement in the nose with a stiffer tail for extra pop and power under your back foot.
V-Core
Boards with V-Cores are slightly softer in the very centre of the board for improved maneuverability and stiffer from the inserts through the tip and tail for stability and pop.
Shape: Directional
This board has a setback stance, directional shape, and directional flex pattern, so ride it forwards for optimum performance.
3D Base Contour 3.0
A freeride focused 3D base contour featuring an even balance of 7mm of bevel in the nose and tail. Spoon makes the base roll through turns instead of landing flat, making your turns smoother and more natural.
Core: FSC Power Core
Triple-density full wood core featuring hardwood bamboo stringers for added pop and durability plus paulownia for weight savings.
Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers
New sustainable stringer made with 100% natural fibres. Basalt stringers improve torsional response and transfer power from under your feet to the tips of the board to help eliminate nose and tail chatter.
Ultra Construction
Ultra Construction combines innovative construction techniques with superlight wood cores and carbon fibre, and precisely positions materials for maximum performance and eliminates all excess, making an incredibly lightweight, durable snowboard.
Triax Fibreglass
Multi-axis, stitched fibreglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
Base: Sintered 9900
An incredibly fast base material that easily absorbs wax for when you need to go even faster. Made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene and Carbon, which makes it fast and easy to repair.

Oversized Recycled Edges - Exactly what it sounds like, enhanced sustainability and added durability.
Traction Tech 3.0 - Traction Tech 3.0 features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding). The middle bump is slightly bigger than the outside bumps for better grip.
FSC Ash Veneer - A thin ash veneer topsheet that functions as a protective layer, provides even flex, and absorbs chatter.
Bio Resin - All Jones boards are built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum-based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Bio Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Bio Resin requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
Recycled Rounded ABS - ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improve the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.
Wend Natural Wax - Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with Wend Natural Wax.
Factory Tuned - All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail, so you can go riding straight away.
Carve Pack - These inserts allow for a more centred stance for riding firm snow.
