Burton Custom X 2019
The 2019 Burton Custom X is the pinnacle of performance for riders who demand the best. The Custom X is the stiffest, most aggressive board in the Burton line, and is packed with as many tech and weight-reducing features that it can fit. For this reason it is the weapon of choice for Burton riders the world over when they need top-tier performance, from steep backcountry lines to world class competitions like the Olympics and anything in between, as long as it involves high speeds, aggressive riding, and pushing limits. The stiff flex and extremely light weight combined with Burtons Frostbite edges results in lightning fast response and insane carves in all conditions, so you can tear up the mountain and leave everyone behind. The Custom X also comes in Burtons Flying-V hybrid camber for a floatier, more forgiving, and more versatile ride.
Board Type: Powder and Groomers
Camber Type: Positive Camber
The original, tried and true camber type, and the advocate of powerful turns and poppy precision. Traditional camber is the most aggressive camber type, offering unmatched power, response, and edge control.
Flex: 6-9/10 (1 = soft, 10 = stiff)
Twin Flex - This board is constructed the same at both ends to give a smooth ride while riding regular or switch.
With a slightly longer nose than tail, this board can pop off a decent ollie while still having the nose to float above any powder that comes your way.
Dragonfly 600G - A core made of end-grain woods in impact zones allows Burton to use lighter woods without sacrificing strength.
45° Carbon Highlights - A tip to tail carbon layer reduces weight and contains 45° angled fibres, fine tuning the torsional flex to make a more aggressive ride. The addition of carbon strands to the angled fibre layers adds life to the board and further reduces weight.
Multizone EGD - Wood grain in four separate zones perpendicular to The Channel provides ultimate power and edge control.
Squeezebox High - A thicker and more powerful core section with thinner and more flexible sections in the tip and tail. This enhances energy transfer and makes the board snappier and more stable. Squeezebox High provides you with a more powerful pop, quicker snap, and speedy edge to edge transitions, with carbon fleece support outside the bindings.
Base: Sintered WFO
Standing for Wide F!#@ing Open, this base made from an extra absorbent, high density sintered material that is infused with a specially formulated wax, resulting in an ultra durable base that rides Wide F!#@ing Open.
Infinite Ride - Burton is able to maximise pop and performance by overbuilding their boards in the factory, and then using machinery to break it down for you. This allows your board to ride the same from day one, to day 100, season after season.
Pro Tip - A thinner tip and tail means reduced weight and swing when in the air, helping you to send it!
Frostbite Edges - Edges that extend out slightly underneath your bindings for enhanced edge hold on hardpack and ice.
